About Lea Dutton, Owner

After working 20 years in the business software industry as a programmer, senior application consultant, and client manager, I decided to focus full–time on web site design, development, usability and optimization.  I created my first site in 1998.  After researching and studying search engine optimization and techniques to maximize web site usability for this site, my interest in the area grew and I decided to start my own business.

In my years of consulting I worked with small and large organizations, and successfully worked toward solutions with varying types of people, including senior and mid–level management, end users with varying technical expertise, and IT professionals.  Owning my own consulting business the last several years, I understand the needs of small as well as growing companies.  My past work experiences provide not only the technical background, but equally important, the interpersonal and project skills required to understand customer needs, provide meaningful and constructive analysis, and navigate projects from initial planning to successful implementation.

In the business software industry, I observed that the “bells and whistles” of a computer program can often wow users, but sometimes mask underlying issues with the required functionality and usability–the core purpose of the program.  With this real world experience, I approach web site design projects with the same keen sense of questioning the fundamental purpose and requirements for the site. 

My mission is to assure that not only the site is aesthetically pleasing, but that the core requirements are met, search engine optimization is considered, and usability is maximized for all customers or users.
